Have you missed getting together with your woodworking friends to participate in the weekly in-person meetings we used to be able to have? Have you missed seeing the demonstrations? Are you anxious to return to those meetings? Would you like to participate it re-starting the club’s activities?
Gwinnett Woodworkers Association is working to re-establish itself since the COVID shutdown. At this time, we do not know if we will be able to re-enter Peachtree Woodworking for our meetings. We want to get as many members as possible together on September 23, 2023 to begin to revive the club. We will meet at Rob’s Daycare for Adults from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. All other clubs that we are aware of have been able to reestablish meetings. We have patiently waited for Peachtree Woodworking to open up for us. Until it does, we want to attempt to bring the club back as much as possible.
Over the COVID years we lost our meeting place with Peachtree Woodworking. At this time we are hopeful to be able to meet at Peachtree once again. But that may be a ways off. In the meantime, we want to begin meeting again at Rob Austin’s shop. It would not be every Saturday to begin with but rather once a month on Saturday.
We will kick it off with the meeting on September 23rd. At this gathering, we will highlight woodturning, scroll sawing, CNC, and flat work. A brief overview of each of the topics will be provided. We will want interaction with the attendees to learn from them what they are interested in mostly and what it will take to have them attend the monthly meeting regularly.
This is our chance to come together and get the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association back on track. Eventually we plan to begin live demos again by professional woodturners and/or craftsmen.
We would like to see as many members as possible attend. We will also discuss with the members their thoughts and ideas regarding how to open up the opportunity to see the club prosper again and resume our cherished activities.
Please respond to this email, or call Rob at 678-468-6552 if you are able to attend this meeting. Understanding that we have other things to do, and you are not able to attend, but are interested in getting things going again, please let us know your thoughts regarding what it will take to get you to attend future meetings. Things like times of meetings. Length of meetings. Topics to be discussed/demonstrated. Of these topics, what will it take to inspire you to attend future meetings and what will keep you away.
We look forward to seeing you on September 23, 2023
