This class will be a 2 part. Bird house contests are generally short in duration. So following the bird house contest will be an extended show and tell. Contestants are invited to build an outdoor house for birds. Entries must be shop-made with bird-friendly materials and should be able to withstand weather conditions for at least one year. Entries should include a suitable mounting mechanism. Contestants should declare a category of most functional; most artistic; or most unusual. You must declare the category when entering the contest. Prior to voting, contestants will be given an opportunity to describe their entry and its features.
Following the Birdhouse contest will be a show and tell. Attendees will be encouraged to bring a few shop made show and tell items (especially if they were made since Covid.) Try to limit your entries to about 3. A very early version of this segment had to be called on the account of darkness. When the presentation begins, virtual Vanna White will point to an item, the camera will highlight it on the classroom monitors, and that will be your cue to give your name and tell the audience a bit about what you brought.
We look forward to bringing this pre-Covid segment back to life.
This class meeting will also be broadcast via Zoom for the benefit of our out of area members..
It will be non interactive (your microphone will be disabled) to allow members out of the area and out of state to see the meeting.
