Bob Black will guide us through the process of making several small turning tools. This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend, but there will only be materials for those who signed up and paid at the Jan. 9th Turning SIG meeting. The provided materials include tool steel and wood for the handles for five tools. We will turn the handles in the workshop so you should bring your favorite spindle turning tool/s. We will also make jam chucks to hold the tool handle wood for shaping. This jam chuck will have #2 morse tape to fit into the spindle, so there will be no need for a chuck or other special equipment. If you would like to make these jam chucks for yourself, please bring two pieces of wood about 1" square by about 8" long.
