Ricky will discuss in the first part of the class what types of sandpaper are recommended for wood, options for finish sanders, card scrapers, sand paper block ideas, proper progression suggestions for different situations, difficult areas solutions such as profiles and door panels, techniques to check your progress, and newer tools now available to get the job done in record time. The second half of the class he request that you either bring in or take a picture of how you handle dust collection for your sanding process - whether that be for turning, flat work, or whatever woodworking you do normally. We will use this to open the class for discussion and maybe share some good ideas or techniques for collecting this most damaging dust created in your shop specific for you sanding process. Hopefully we will see some lively participation so we can make this normally boring topic more interesting and informative. Send your pictures to Ricky by e-mail at chemrick002 or bring in your pictures early the day of class so they can be loaded onto the overhead computer. We will cover as many as time allows.
