“AristoCraft” Boats
About 70 years ago Claude Turner (100 years old) started building wooden boats in down town Atlanta. He and his employee’s built over 45,000. At their peek they had 300 employee’s. Now Claude’s son, Bill and his grandson are building new boats and restoring many of the original boats.
Their museum and workshop have about 75 boats on display. Many of them are the original boats that Claude made back in the 50’s and 60’s
This roadtrip to Dawsonville is about 45 miles from Peachtree Up 400. Then take hwy 53 left to the town square. go around the square and go left, hwy 9 south. AristoCraft is on the right about 1000 yds.
